Now that our war in Afghanistan is over, we can stop sending our soldiers to their untimely deaths in a foreign country. We must give thanks and honor to those brave souls who gave their greatest asset, their lives, to try to turn this country into a democracy.

A fact of life is that not all countries can handle a democracy as their form of government. Afghanistan is a country made up of tribes who do not want to give up their control to a central government.

The Afghanistan government that we created was like paper machete. The Army disappeared almost overnight and was no opposition to the Taliban. We (America) have spent 20 long years and thousands of lives, and trillions of dollars trying to create something that just was not there.

Let us concentrate on helping others who need and want our help. But let us first look after America. We have needs that should be met before we try to meet all the needs of the world.

Before we export democracy to other countries, let us ascertain that ours is in good shape. We need to set the example for other countries to follow.

Prosperity follows peace. Without peace there is no prosperity.
